When you say music therapy, it doesn’t mean you just need to learn and play the music and find therapy in it. Incorporating music into your life will make it therapeutic. When you have a classic jazzmaster and you find therapy by learning and strumming it everyday, that’s when you call it therapeutic. Music therapy can be receptive or active. If you have a talent in music and use a musical instrument, that’s when you say you are into active music therapy. It is more of music making and not listening which is for receptive therapy. Music therapy is commonly used in other countries to treat mental disorders and utilized as Psychiatric music therapy or psychotherapy.
