Draw Result for Home Game 0-0 Azkals vs Singapore

It’s  0-0 for the 1st  Leg of Suzuki Cup 2012 between  Azkals  and  Singapore.  According to Coach Weiss, the result is not a win, but it’s a good result.   Azkals did not give a chance for visiting team to score an  away goal and that’s really a good result for the Philippine Azkals.   Azkals put  the Lions  under pressure  for the 2nd leg.  For the Azkals,   they  need   to equalize the score to advance to final.  If we make at least one goal,  Singapore needs  2  goals to win.  Nevertheless,   Azkals need to concentrate on the away game.  Let’s all hope for a  better result and cheers for  the Azkals.

Malaysia vs. Thai for Group A, 1st Leg

Meanwhile, I watched Malaysia vs Thailand last night for the 1st leg  held at National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia.  The huge stadium was jampacked with  football fans who supported their home game with  cheers and chants.  I was tweeting when a  girl  tweetmate replied to my updates. She said, it looks like we were only two watching the game via Star Sports  and not affected much of  Pacquiao’s loss.   Malaysia drew 1-1 against Thailand.   It was an away goal for Thailand.  The  2nd leg would be a big advantage for Thailand,  an away goal plus home advantage.  I cheered for Thailand because they played so intense but when I  watched how Malaysia team played, I changed my mind.   Any of  the two  teams would be a good opponent for Azkals,  should Azkals  advance to  final game.  *Keeping my fingers crossed*

Azkals advances to Suzuki Cup semi-finals

Just a short update. I did not get the chance to watch the game last Saturday  between Azkals and Myanmar.  I was  out  for a weekend trip and there’s no TV  or Wifi at the resort.  I watched the replay last Sunday night via ESPN where it was played  three times that day.   Phil Younghusband scored a goal few minutes at the start of second half  while Angel Guirado sealed  the score to  2 – 0  just a minute  before the referee blew the final whistle.

The next game will be on Saturday, December 8,  8pm,   for the first leg of  the semi-finals  of Suzuki Cup where Azkals will meet Singapore at  Rizal Memorial Stadium,  live via AKTV.   I just  checked the ticketworld website and tickets are now on a Limited Status,  meaning, tickets are almost sold out.  So get your ticket now or  you’ll miss the game live.     Second leg  to be held on December 12 at Jalan Basar Stadium.

Azkals vs Lions before Suzuki Cup 2012

The game at Cebu City Sports Complex where Azkals met the Singapore Lions last November 15 was the last friendly match before Suzuki Cup but it was a  great game like a big fight.  Football fans almost filled the sports complex and that signals how  far football has gone in the country.  The friendly match  was held at Cebu and the fans were amazed  with  how the Azkals defend themselves against the Lion.  I  was actually in my friend’s house for a birthday party but I made my way to watch the game too.  I requested to switch the channel  where the play was telecast  without  considering  everybody   in the house  watching soap opera.  I am a soap opera addict too, but given an option, I’ll choose football without any doubt.  Now  I  am a football fanatic.  Singapore did not get the chance to score,  and ended 1- 0 in favor of Azkals.  Marvin Angeles scored on the 54th minute.

Azkals vs Thailand War Elephants

Another game in the opening of Suzuki cup last Saturday, November 24,  was  Azkals vs  Thailand War Elephants.  I was torn  between the three shows,  Kapuso  Mo, Jessica Soho,   Carmina – Zoren Wedding and Azkals vs Thailand War Elephant game.  I chose the latter  while everybody else was watching  The Wedding Carmina – Zoren.   I was upset how the game turned out  in many aspects.  Huh!  It was a physical game.  Phil Younghusband suffered a  cut on his  left eyebrow.    Coach Weiss was sent to stands when he was caught  throwing a ball to a Thai  player.  He said that  it  was  unintentional and  what he just  meant to do was roll the ball.   The game ended  with a score of   2 – 1 in favor of  Thailand.  I hope for a better and fair  fight tomorrow where Azkals will meet Vietnam.

Do or Die game will happen tomorrow
