At last I’ve got a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts today. I’ve been craving for donuts lately, so I bought lemon, new york and blueberry cheese cake at KK, original and chocoglazed for my daughters. So for today’s Yummy Sunday, I have my Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, absolutely the softest donuts on earth! 🙂

Yey! My favorite meme on Sunday, my Yummy Sunday!
My daughter so loves lasagna. I wanted to cook pasta for her cravings but then we went out for a weekend treat.
It took her more than an hour for her regular meal, but not with pasta where she could finish in few minutes.
This afternoon, I bumped into one of my husbands close friend and asked me about what time will my husband arrive. I was surprised because my hubby did not mention nor confirm anything about it. He was planning for a vacation next year, but not this soon. So I thought maybe he wants to surprise me. I tried calling him on his fone to confirm but he did not answer the call. I kept wondering whether my husband is really coming home or not. To this very hour, nobody arrived. So it was just a wild imagination of his best friend. I guess, a mere joke.
Anyway, one friend arrived from Basilan and gave us Lapulapu. I’ll cook lapu-lapu with black beans tomorrow. For our dinner tonight, I cooked sweet and sour. I want to share my menu here. This is my own version that I based on how my children would love the taste to have for our dinner.
Carrots, celery, ginger, onion, garlic, bell pepper
Mama Sitas sweet and sour mix
Option: if you want your own taste of sauce, you can use 1/2 cup tomato sauce, 3/4 cup water, 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 tbs flour instead of ready mix sauce.
Sautee garlic, onion, ginger, carrots, bell pepper. Pour in mixed Mama Sitas sweet and sour sauce. Add crispy fried lapu-lapu let it boil for two minutes. Thats it! Sprinkle the celery on top. Make sure it is crisp and fresh. For special occassion, you can add pineapple tidbits for good food presentation.
As usual, I am not really good in food photography, nor a culinary arts mom. I just took one shot for this post. This may not really look good because of my photography flaws, but I guarantee you, it tastes good. 🙂 Masarsarap! I really love to eat vegetables with sweet n sour taste, carrots, bell pepper and yes, celery! Oh I forgot, is my husband coming? I guess, he’s not. He doesn’t eat much fish anyway. 🙂
Celery is an excellent source of vitamin C that helps to support the immune system and several other active compounds that promote health, including phthalides, which may help lower cholesterol and help relax the muscles around arteries and allow vessel to dilate; and coumarins, that may be useful in cancer prevention.
