The most enjoyable time to travel around anywhere else not only in Manila, but also throughout the Philippines, is during big fight of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. Because this fight caused us a no-traffic hi-way, zero crime rate (the criminals were also on holiday only to watch this fight), and the resort where we spent our weekend seemed to be isolated too.
The whole world watched “Pacquiao-Hatton-the battle of east and west” yesterday and we’re away from the rest of Pacquiao mania that time, we monitored this victory though. Kudos for the man who raised our nation on top of the world again. GMA proclaimed national day of celebration for this victory.
Congratulations Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao!
After this short weekend, (no long weekend is enough for us) I’ve gathered some wonderful things around my sisters house, for todays image, and here are the photos..
ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND WONDERFUL, this is how I see everything around me, sharing through this post for todays image..
Feels good today after a short break from bursting noise of the city. Though I’ve missed the real-time fight of our great Kamao, I still enjoyed the weekend with my family.
Mother Earth is crying, protesting by extreme weather condition we are now embracing. This is the first summertime that I have experienced in Manila with strong rain that caused flood in mid April.
Yesterday, I felt sad to hear that my two nephews were sick. It costs me much trouble too, to know about my niece, who is 10 months old with cough and flu. And hey, just this morning, my neighborhood that I haven’t seen for a couple of days just told me that she is still recuperating from a week-in-bed of illness. Unusual climate this summer lead lots of people to become sickly. And that’s why, I make sure that my kids are vitamin-loaded to fight against sickness. But is this enough? No! And what caused us to be in this condition these days?
Our nature is being abused. We all need to be aware of this. I was in despair last week when I watched the local news on how manileños treated the environment. The creeks were all clogged. Pasig River is being used to dump their daily garbage. How could such people treat the only floodway in Manila to use as garbage dump. Maybe this is an awakening situation, mother earth is crying out for help.
Sailing in good old Pasig River,
and now, what do you feel about this?
What’s in the hot news today? Why are my kids scared of this swine flu? My kids are so much aware about of this virus. My little daughter is browsing the web and do a little research about this virus. She even asked me not to cook pork because virus might be transfered through meat. Really? but I watched the news and it clearly says it can’t easily be transfered through meat.
I have images for today. When I don’t feel writing to long, I do it through todays image.
Here in Manila, ice cream is one of favorites during summer.. This is not the magnolia, selecta or nestle ice cream. We call this “dirty ice cream” and why dirty? Here’s a little trivia.
“Sorbetes” is a Filipino version for common ice cream usually peddled from carts that roam streets in the Philippines. This should not be confused with the known sorbet. It is also commonly called ‘dirty ice cream’ because it is sold along the streets exposing it to pollution and that the factory where it comes from is usually unknown; though it is not really “dirty” as the name implies. It is usually served with small wafer or sugar cones and recently, bread buns.
You can see through their eyes how they love dirty ice cream..:) Summertime but hair seems to be blown away by summer wind.. 🙂 Sorry for the photograph. This is one-take click photograph.
More of todays..
I cooked pork for lunch, and you guess, my little daughter did not eat it. Instead she ate the leftover chicken adobo last night, maybe because of swine flu?
Into food trip today. My older daughter doesn’t care much about that news. So we both have a full lunch.. 🙂
Fried pork chop and pancit canton..
Need not share my recipe since this is pinoy canton and everybody knows cooking method of this “famoso de cantones de pinoy”.. but I have a secret ingredient for this. I also use oyster sauce instead of soy sauce. Here’s something for you I wanna share, just for a food trip..
I’m counting the calories…
I exceed my calorie limit for the day. 🙁
everytime i watch photos of my daughters during younger years, i cant help but sigh.. ten years have passed quickly. my little maizi then is so big now. she was three in this pic.. i missed those toddler times. she can’t be my baby again that crawls and obviously cries for food and milk.. :p
i’ve been a fulltime mom since she was born, but i still feel that the time on being mom wasn’t enough. i was beside her from the first day of her kindergarten years and it was just so hard for me to see her alone without mom in the first day of school.
even if i still want more time to spend on her younger years, i can never turn back time anymore. i still love staring at them while sleeping, like when they’re still my baby. every single moment with them is a treasure.
sigh. i am thankful how God blessed me.
i am sharing some old pix during her kindergarten years. everything is beautiful in mother’s eyes.
we have 1,440 minutes a day, and so im using one minute of them to write when i possibly can. I was supposed to write this yesterday but i found myself so tired of doing weekend household chores. I started my day for my 21 coyfishes. its been few months since i cleaned my aquarium, and it gives me satisfaction even it was a difficult task for me to remove averything in the aquarium. I know they love clean environment too. Though theres a filter and running water to recycle, i still need to clean everything and all ornaments inside. I love to watch fishes and it mesmerizes me and it de-stresses my distressed mind. 🙁 I’ll try to have good photograph next time.
i tried to upload clear video but an error occured and still need to contact google support group..:(
